While the Unified Maoists’ Party Chief Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ continues to allege India for plotting murders of veteran communist leader Madan Bhandari and King Birendra and his entire family, a leader of party leading the government has alleged that it were the Maoists who were behind the ghastly murder of former General Secretary of the United Marxist Leninists’ Party.

“The Maoists are involved in the murder of former General Secretary Bhandari and leader Jib Raj Ashrit”, said Jaggannath Khatiwada, the UML leader addressing a press-meet organized by Press Chautari in Gaighat of Udaypur, January 27, 2010.

Khatiwada is a central memebr of the party.

“Why did they (Maoist) kill Amar Lama?” asked Khatiwada.

Khatiwada also said that in a bid to destroy the proof of Bhandari’s murder Maoists had also killed Amar Lama.

Bhandari and Ashrit died in a mysterious car crash in 1993 (Jestha 3, 2050 B.S) at Dasdhunga of Chitwan District. Among the three passengers in the vehicle only driver Amar Lama had survived. After ten years Lama was also killed by unidentified killers.

Prachanda in his fresh mass speeches has been alleging India for carrying out murders of Communist stalwart Mr. Madan Bhandari and Nepal’s late monarch Birendra Bir Bikram Shah.
He has claimed that the main reason behind the killing of the two adored figures had been their unequivocal love for their motherland. “They were both strong nationalists”, Prachanda has been saying.
