Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that the agitating Madhesi parties came to the Capital as they failed to garner support from the people of Tarai.Speaking at a programme organised by his party CPN-UML here Monday to mark the 23rd Madan-Ashrit Memorial Day, the Prime Minister said people’s mandate and rule of law are always recognised and respected in a democratic system, and urged the disgruntled parties, who have objected to some provisions in the recently promulgated constitution, to get their voice addressed from the same way.Demand for rewriting of the constitution promulgated by a vast majority 92 per cent of the people’s elected Constituent Assembly could never be justified and this Legislature-Parliament did not have such authority too, the Prime Minister said.Room for amendment to the constitution, however, was always open to address the genuine demands of the dissatisfying parties, he added. Prime Minister Oli, who is also the chairman of CPN-UML, further called on the agitating parties not to cause any inconvenience to the people in their bid to get their demands fulfilled.“Rule of law dominates in a democracy and let’s stop vandalism and violent activities.
