The election committee of Nepal Bar Association has said that it has completed all necessary preparations for electing new leadership of the umbrella organization of the lawyers across the country. Lawyers are scheduled to cast vote on April 2 to elect new leadership in the NBA. The election committee led by senior advocate Hari Shankar Niraula on Thursday organized a press conference and informed that the lawyers will cast their votes from 33 election booths across the country. According to Niraula, 9,522 lawyers will cast their votes to elect 19 office bearers of the NBA. There are 5,862 lawyers within the Kathmandu Valley while 3,660 lawyers are casting votes from outside the Valley. Niraula informed that 71 lawyers have filed their candidacy for the 19 positions.Sher Bahadur KC has filed his candidacy for the position of NBA chairman from the democratic panel while Bijay Kanta Mainali is the candidate for the post from the progressive and leftist panel. Dinmani Pokharel, Birat Neupane, Khamba Bahadur Khati, Naraharinath Yogi, Gajendra Bahadur Thapa and Chet Bahadur Oli have filed candidacy for the position of general secretary
